The Business & Innovation Network – BIN@ is an international network of academic and corporate partners engaged in supporting the creation of a sustainable forum for sharing good practices and opportunities in innovation. It was founded by University of Porto (Portugal), University of Sheffield (UK) and USP – University of São Paulo (Brazil). Currently, the network has more than 4500 delegates worldwide and has organized 15 international events in Portugal, UK, Brazil, Romania, Poland and The Netherlands.
The Edition
Minas Gerais
The main objective of the edition Minas Gerais is to bring forth the innovation agendas whose genesis comes from research in academia and that are transformed into products and services which meet society’s needs and generate value for the economy. That is why the driving theme will be “The growth of the Innovation Economy”.
During the event, innovations will be presented by researchers and market experts in various sectors of the economy providing all participants with opportunities to share knowledge and best practices, to network as well as create partnerships and business opportunities.

BIN@PORTO 2021
BIN@PORTO 2021, was a highly motivating experience that allowed interaction, sharing ideas and building new collaborative partnerships. In the end of October 2021, the city of Porto hosted the 14th annual international BIN@ event, organised by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and supported by the Science and Technology Park of University of Porto (UPTEC). The general theme of BIN@PORTO 2021 was ‘Human-centered Innovation’.

The organization of the Minas Gerais edition is under the responsibility of FCJ Venture Builder in co-participation with the founder of the network, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).
FCJ Venture Builder is a multinational company with years of experience in corporate innovation, startup development and venture capital raising, committed to creating sustainable and scalable innovation models. The company’s mission is to connect organizations, investors, startups and universities to build and evolve, with purpose, corporate venture builders, sharing risks and successes. FCJ Venture Builder is the largest venture building network in Latin America. In 2021, it began the process of international expansion and, today, has operations in the United States, Portugal and Mexico.
The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto – FEUP develops international education, research and innovation activities. Accordingly, the results of these activities are the creation, transmission and dissemination of knowledge, and the training of competent and ethical professionals and future leaders in the field of engineering and the like, as well as the promotion of the well-being of global society.
